Drop-in Circus Clubs 8-18 yrs

Our specific circus skills clubs take place on Tuesday evenings 6.15-7.30pm. There is a fee of a few euro and young people over the age of eight are welcome to attend any of the three clubs running concurrently each week, but please note that they are drop-in and operate on a first-come-first-served basis. If your preferred club is full, you can choose to join in with another club. Appropriate clothing is very important and we cannot allow people in inappropriate clothing to participate in clubs. Each club specifies what is appropriate.

  • Day: Tuesday
  • Time: 6.00-7.15pm
  • Age group: 8+ years
  • Fee: €3

Acrobatics Club

In our Acrobatics Club participants learn tumbling, acro-balance, break-dance and movement. This is a great class for beginners or for those who want to build on the skills they already have.

Clothing: Wear comfortable clothing, no jeans, preferably a tracksuit or leotard.

Stilt-Walking Club

In our Stilt-Walking Club children and young people learn the basics of stilt-walking, and then over time more advanced tricks. Stilt walking is known to improve balance and coordination. Stilt walking can be an amazing way to stay healthy as it involves cardiovascular and aerobic exercise along with hours of fun and enjoyment.

Clothing: Wear comfortable clothing, preferably tracksuit pants. No shorts, or open-toed shoes. Runners preferred.

Unicycle Club

In our Unicycle Club children and young people can learn the basics of unicycling as well as more advanced tricks. Some of the benefits of riding a unicycle include burning calories, increased levels of coordination, concentration and balance. Because unicycles don’t have any handlebars, riders must balance using only their abdominal muscles and leg muscles. This helps you build a healthier core. Long cycling sessions also increase your heart rate, which can lead to a healthier cardiovascular system.

Clothing: Wear comfortable clothing, preferably tracksuit pants. No shorts, or open-toed shoes. Runners preferred.

All participants of Drop-in Circus Clubs have the chance to perform in the Galway St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Participation is strictly voluntary and tremendously fun!
