Cirque du Gaillimh

We are delighted to announce that the young people (12-20 years) of Galway Community Circus will be once again creating and performing a large-scale show thanks to the Arts Council Young Ensemble Scheme in Spring 2017.

Cirque du Gaillimh will be funded by the Young Ensemble Scheme and the concept for the show was decided by our 12-20 year old members in the Spring of 2016. As always, we will be doing something super exciting, and while we will no longer be working with Fidget Feet on this project we are delighted to announce that we will be working with Tumble Circus, a Belfast-based contemporary circus company along with the Galway School of Music. The show will be based on the history and roots of circus arts and will be performed in a Big Top tent with a live orchestra! The young people participating in this project will be the ones to shape the show - from brainstorming to physical workshops to ideas for costumes and everything in between.

All those enrolled in our Tweenies and Senior groups are invited to take part in this project and participation is completely voluntary. Rehearsals will take place between the 20th - 25th of February and the 8th - 23rd of April.

So get out your 2017 diaries and mark in the 22nd and 23rd of April for Cirque du Gaillimh - the best show in town and not to be missed!
