Galway Community Circus is looking for an EVS volunteer to come join the admin team for the months of March – June 2018. Start ideally on 5th March but later date can be discussed if needed.

Galway Community Circus is a charitable organisation dedicated to inspiring and empowering people of all ages and abilities through circus arts. We use the fun and innovative nature of circus as an educational tool for personal, artistic, social and community development.

Galway Community Circus is a pioneer of youth circus in Ireland, committed to the advancement of circus arts through the creation of exciting and enriching opportunities for young people, emerging circus artists and professionals to engage in training, creation and performance on an ongoing basis. Through its ground-breaking programmes and high quality productions, Galway Community Circus has proven itself to be a cradle of artistic excellence and educational innovation in Ireland.

At Galway Community Circus we work towards realising our mission by providing a welcoming and professional space where all members of the community, young people and adults alike, can learn, develop and share a diverse array of circus arts skills. We do this by providing a comprehensive range of weekly classes, specialised workshops and outreach programmes throughout the year.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person who would like to get experience in project coordination and arts administration in a well established youth circus organisation in the beautiful city of Galway on the West coast of Ireland.

We will be preparing events leading to a major funambulism event Wires Crossed, an anchor project of Galway 2020 European Capital of Culture as well as regular projects of GCC such as classes, social circus projects, teacher trainings and outdoor events for children and families.

We would love having an EVS volunteer with passion for youth and social circus who is not afraid of admin work. Other fields of interest could be photography, video, graphic design, event management etc. A good level of spoken and written English is essential for the position as there will be a lot of written work.

To apply email a CV and letter of motivation to rachel@galwaycircus.com
