Baboró International Arts Festival for Children presents Small Size Day 2016 on Sunday the 31st of January. Small Size Day is a European wide initiative to celebrate creativity for Early Years. This year Baboró are pleased to present two unique experiences for young children at St. Joseph’s Community Centre, Shantalla, Galway. Baboró are pleased to collaborate with Galway Community Circus and Jay Ryan at PigNut Productions to deliver this event.
‘If We Ran the Circus” (Galway Community Circus) | Ages 1 - 6. Single ticket €5 / Family Ticket (4 persons) €16. Duration: 60mins.
A fun-filled circus based movement and skills workshop for 1-6 year olds and their families. The workshop will introduce children to different circus skills and circus characters, encourage family bonding and bring participants on an interactive journey where they can become a clown, a juggler or even a trapeze artist! This is an activity for children and adults to enjoy together so wear comfortable clothes and bring water. Fun and laughter guaranteed!
‘The Trouble with Fairies’ | (Pignut Productions) | Ages 3 – 6 | Single ticket €3 / Family Ticket (4 persons) €8. Duration: 30mins.
You never know where you might find fairies or what kind of mischief they might get up to. Join Jay Ryan on a daring adventure for 3-6 year olds and their families.
Ticket Holders can also avail of a Children’s Story Corner where you can enjoy discovering circus stories with your little ones in a comfortable space. Complimentary Tea/Coffee will be provided for grown-ups and small snacks for children.
‘Small Size Days’ are presented by (Artistic International Association) Small Size, and are a part of the wider activity of the ‘Small Size, performing arts for early years’ project. Baboró is a member of this project since 2009 and is the only Irish partner in this 16-country, 18 partner project. ‘Small Size , performing arts for early years’ is supported by the European Commission’s Creative Europe project, which supports artistic productions for children aged 0 to 6, and the cultural rights of young children to access the Creative Arts.
