Clowning Workshops

Galway Community Circus recently witnessed the birth of four brand new red nosed clowns into the world. On Saturday 15th September we celebrated two weeks of clowning masterclasses with the amazing Nettie Lu Lane with a pot luck style gathering and watched the hilarious Baboosha, Winston Charles Marmalade, Milo O'Flannely and Dolores Crubben take to the stage. Thank you Nettie for bringing the world of the Red Nose Clown back to GCC, we hope to see you again very soon and we will be taking all of your amazing teachings with us on our life journeys and are hoping to set up a clown club soon ;)

New Term Begins

By now we hope to have let all our members, participants, friends and enthusiasts know that registration for new term classes is now officially open.

Some classes do have waiting lists so if you haven’t booked a class for either yourself or your circus little’s, now is the time. Please contact Gwen on 085 1117224 or info@galwaycircus.com. Our new circus term begins this coming Monday 17th September 2018. Classes are available for toddlers, family, youth, and adults. Our Youth Circus classes have been organised into four different age groups: 5-7 years, 8-11 years, 12-14 years and 15-20 years. This year we are introducing a brand new class for ages 18 – 25 year olds called ‘Pierrot’s which is very exciting.

We have spaces left in our adult aerial Saturday morning classes 9-11am. For adults we have still some space in our fantastic circus drill style classes ‘Drills for Thrills’ starting Wednesday 19th that uses circus techniques to work up a serious sweat and get fit circus style as well as hula hoop classes starting next Monday and Tuesday – these classes each run from 7 – 8.30pm for six weeks and cost €62 for six lessons. We highly recommend these classes for fitness in a fun environment as well as learning new circus skills. Book your class by navigating to Registrations and click on the easy payment button.

The items are at the bottom of the list, code GCC24, GCC25 and GCC26.

After listening to your feedback, we are now using the Easy Payment system for all our registrations which you can find on our website by going straight to ‘Registrations’ and clicking on the ‘Easy Payment’ button which will bring up a list of our entire class offerings.

Summer 2018 Highlights

Before we tell you all about what is happening, let’s take a moment to recap on the fantastic summer of local, national and international activities. When GCC’s youth ensemble wrapped up the final show of ‘The Circus Guide to Chaos Theory’ in May, emotions were fraught - the thought of not having circus was too much to think about! However, Galway Community Circus ensured an endless amount of circus activities throughout the summer for all ages, levels and stages.

We are excited to announce our upcoming Clown Workshops with Nettie Lane!

Nettie has officially arrived in Galway and we hope she brought her lovely umbrella! She is bringing with her a unique and special opportunity to explore the world and realm of the Red Nose Clown.

“Clown is a space of vulnerability and personal power; of rigorous fun and courageous openness. Clown is about learning to fall and how to have fun while falling.” ~Giovanni Fusetti
