We are looking for an intern!
Galway Community Circus would like to welcome someone new to the team for six months to a year.
Starting in August 2019, the chosen party will work alongside our team and will report to our Communications Co-ordinator Dani Gill. The role will focus on marketing and communications and the person chosen for the role will form a very important part of the next year of Galway Community Circus, as we go toward our major 2020 project Wires Crossed: A Balancing Act for Europe, in partnership with Galway 2020 European Capital of Culture and the European Centre for Funambulism.
About the role:
The desired candidate should be enthusiastic and hard-working with an interest in the arts. No previous knowledge of circus is necessary. The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Marketing experience
- Competency in digital marketing and social media channels
- Good time management skills
- An interest in audience development
- A friendly personality
The intern will work primarily with our Communications Co-ordinator Dani Gill. The successful applicant can expect to receive mentorship in project management, marketing, communications and audience development.
The internship will be for 6 months to a year depending on the candidate:
August 2019-January 2020
August 2019-August 2020 *Ideally the intern would complete a year and be part of Wires Crossed until its finish in August 2020.
August-September 2019 6-8 hours per week
October 2019-February 2020 10-12 hours per week
February 2020-August 2020 10-16 hours per week
The intern can work remotely but mentored hours with Dani will need to be onsite.
The intern will be offered free entry to all circus shows and some free circus classes, should they wish to learn some new skills!
